My name is Lauren
Here I share about navigating life’s ups and downs in unfettered truths of my thoughts and feelings. I made this website to share my experience of travel with a stoma and insights into medicine and technology for inflammatory bowel disease, for all my friends and family, including you, dear reader.
The other driving force behind this website was to inspire. Inspire people with a similar story to my own. On the left you can see my all time favourite accessory: My stoma bag.
I wanted to prove, not only to myself, but to the other strong beings with this accessory that life isn’t over. I want to show that living your dreams is still possible. Wether or not you’re part of the stoma bag club, you’ve been through some crap, we all have. The crap makes you tougher, stronger and you’re all the more beautiful for it.
So why listen to me? I’ve been through it. I have the first hand experience with the struggles of IBD, of surgery, I’ve gone through the challenges of travelling with a stoma bag. As for the technology section, I want to empower you with knowledge, and I have a pretty good grasp of the science with a Biochemistry degree and multiple years working in biotech and pharma.
